An H.I.G. Capital affiliate agreed to sell General Datatech to an affiliate of Softcat at an enterprise value of $1.05 billion. Founded in 1996 and based in Dallas, GDT provides networking, hybrid-cloud, data-center, cybersecurity and collaboration services to enterprise customers.

H.I.G. invested in the business in 2021. During its ownership, GDT opened a Bangalore delivery center, invested in AI and cybersecurity capabilities, and doubled EBITDA while increasing its recurring gross-profit mix.

The transaction remains subject to customary closing conditions and is expected to close by the end of the first quarter of 2027.
