Soho Square Capital invests in Skiddle through a minority equity stake

Skiddle, a UK ticketing platform founded in 2001, took its first external capital in a growth investment led by Soho Square Capital.

It is Soho Square's second investment from Soho Square Partnership Capital Fund II. The investment is a minority equity stake, and the value was not disclosed.

Skiddle was founded in Preston in 2001 by Ben Sebborn and Richard Dyer and began selling tickets in 2006. In 2025 it generated £178 million in face value ticket sales across 180,000 listed events, with a 98 per cent promoter retention rate. Revenue has grown by an average of more than 20 per cent a year over the past two years.

The co-founders will keep control and remain in their leadership roles, working with CFO Peter Hinnigan and the senior team. Joe Tebbutt will join the board on behalf of Soho Square. The capital will support expansion into lifestyle events, technology, marketing and new European markets. The co-founders said the investment gives Skiddle the backing to move faster across Europe.
