First Advantage acquires Data Diver Technologies for about $125 million

Data Diver Technologies builds automated criminal and court records data for background screening; First Advantage, a Nasdaq-listed screening firm, is the buyer.

First Advantage Corporation (NASDAQ: FA) said it has acquired Data Diver Technologies, LLC in a transaction valued at approximately $125 million.

Data Diver Technologies has spent two decades building a proprietary platform with an automated fulfillment engine that collects and delivers high-volume criminal and court records for background screening. The acquisition also includes a small employment screening business serving small and medium-sized businesses, which First Advantage plans to integrate. Management will stay on to support continuity and customer relationships.

First Advantage CEO Scott Staples said Data Diver Technologies was already a key third-party data provider to the company. The company said the deal will expand its automated coverage across U.S. jurisdictions and strengthen its proprietary data and product development.
