Environmental Protection Industries, a full-service environmental consulting and remediation firm based in South Holland, Illinois, has been acquired by Sterling Investment Partners-backed Verdantas.
Founded more than 30 years ago, the firm serves public and private sector clients throughout the Great Lakes region with a focus on complex, environmentally challenged sites in and around Chicago.
"EPI is a strong strategic addition to the Verdantas platform," said James Soldano, Managing Partner at Sterling Investment Partners.
The deal adds a Midwest presence in Illinois and follows Verdantas' July 2026 acquisition of EN-POWER Group, an engineering and consulting firm focused on building energy efficiency and decarbonization.
