Trive-backed OWL Services acquires Tanks Direct
Laurel, Maryland-based Tanks Direct supplies, installs and services fuel and water storage tanks, with a growing data center customer base.
Trive-backed OWL Services has acquired Tanks Direct, the Laurel, Maryland supplier and installer of aboveground and underground fuel and water storage tanks. OWL announced the acquisition on October 21, 2026. Financial terms were not disclosed.
Tanks Direct, founded by Paul Robertson in 1993, provides turnkey tank systems, controls, installation and maintenance for commercial, healthcare, government and data center customers. Its Shelters Direct arm offers prefabricated shelters, equipment enclosures and canopies. OWL Services, a Trive Capital portfolio company, provides fuel, electrical, construction and compliance services to convenience stores, fuel operators and critical infrastructure.
Chesapeake Corporate Advisors served as exclusive financial adviser to Tanks Direct, and Offit Kurman was legal counsel to the company. Robertson said the sale delivered an outcome best for himself and the Tanks Direct team.
