Electro-Spec, a specialty plating and surface finishing business, has been acquired by Tide Rock to establish its specialty surface finishing platform. The new platform adds advanced electroplating, passivation and metallurgical analysis capabilities for performance-critical applications across high-reliability end markets.

Electro-Spec holds NADCAP, AS9100 and ITAR certifications, and its capabilities include selective gold plating, electroless nickel plating, passivation and micro-miniature SBE plating for original equipment manufacturers and precision machining shops. "Electro-Spec stood out as an attractive acquisition opportunity because of its combination of technical expertise, long-term customer relationships, and growth potential," said Brooks Kincaid, President of Tide Rock.

Jeff Smith, President of Electro-Spec, built the company over 32 years.
