New Mountain-backed Grant Thornton LLP acquires CBIZ CPAs P.C. as part of wider CBIZ combination

Grant Thornton LLP has acquired CBIZ CPAs P.C., a licensed public accounting firm, in a deal announced November 6, 2026. The deal follows Grant Thornton Advisors LLC's earlier acquisition of non-attest provider CBIZ, Inc. and is part of the broader combination of the two businesses.

The parties say the transactions expand Grant Thornton's scale and create the fifth-largest U.S. provider of professional services, tax and advisory offerings, with more than $5 billion in annual domestic revenue. CBIZ CPAs will stay a separate licensed firm during a transition period before expected integration into Grant Thornton LLP. Grant Thornton Advisors is a New Mountain Capital portfolio company.
