Finch-backed Fourthline completes merger with Veridas, backed by up to €65 million financing

Amsterdam-based Fourthline and Pamplona-based Veridas, a digital identity verification provider, have completed their merger, backed by up to €65 million in financing.

Fourthline, founded in Amsterdam in 2017, is backed by Finch Capital, which is an existing shareholder. Veridas, founded in 2017 as a joint venture with BBVA, serves more than 350 clients in banking, insurance, telecoms and public administration. Paul Stoddart, Fourthline's CEO, will lead the combined company as CEO, and Veridas CEO Eduardo Azanza will become president. Seaya Andromeda is making a new equity investment.

A financing package of up to €65 million comes from Finch Capital, Seaya Andromeda and Ashgrove Capital, and will fund product development, M&A, debt refinancing and partial liquidity for Veridas shareholders. The companies expect €20 million in annual run-rate synergies. TD Securities advised Veridas, and several law firms advised the parties.
