Platinum Equity has made a significant investment in LMPG Inc., a Montreal-based manufacturer of specification-grade LED lighting systems for commercial buildings, healthcare facilities, educational institutions, and urban infrastructure projects.

Founder François-Xavier Souvay, W Investments, President and CEO Peter Timotheatos, and management rolled over their equity, while institutional investors sold their stakes.

LMPG runs a portfolio of eight lighting brands—including Lumenpulse, Fluxwerx, Sternberg, Exenia, Pa-Co Lighting, Lumca, ALW and Vode—and reaches architects, engineers and lighting designers through a network of independent sales agencies.

“LMPG has built a scaled and highly differentiated platform in the specification-grade lighting market, combining specialized engineering capabilities, a diverse portfolio of brands, and a strong network of agent partners who bring those products to the architects, engineers and designers who specify them,” said Platinum Equity Co-President Jacob Kotzubei.

The firm plans to draw on its operational expertise and acquisition experience to help LMPG capture share in the fragmented specification-grade lighting market, supported by demand from commercial construction and infrastructure investment.
