Platinum Equity and Nestlé agreed to create Peranel, a 50/50 joint venture holding Nestlé's water and premium-beverage business at a $5.6 billion enterprise value.

Peranel will be a Paris-based global provider of bottled water and premium beverages, with more than 30 brands sold in 120 countries, including S.Pellegrino, Perrier, Acqua Panna and Nestlé Pure Life.

Muriel Lienau will lead Peranel, which will have its own research and development team and the ability to pursue acquisitions.

The transaction is subject to employee consultations and regulatory approvals and is expected to close in the first half of 2027.
