Xyresic-backed Smart Chemical Solutions acquires Polymer Technologies

Gladstone Investment Corporation announced its support of Smart Chemical Solutions, LLC in its acquisition of Polymer Technologies, LLC, alongside Xyresic Capital. Smart Chemical supplies production chemicals to onshore oil and gas operators and also serves fuel additive, agricultural, water treatment and industrial markets.

Polymer Technologies, headquartered in Plainville, Kansas, has provided polymer-gel well services since 1989. Its treatments seal fractures, high-permeability channels and casing leaks to reduce water production and disposal costs. The companies said the deal extends Smart Chemical's oilfield offering into well-intervention and water conformance solutions for maturing wells. Smart Chemical's CEO Billy Smith called it a strategic fit.
