EQT-backed SatPort completes acquisition of Speedcast teleport business
SatPort acquires the teleport infrastructure business of communications provider Speedcast, comprising 12 ground stations across five continents.
SatPort Infrastructure, backed by EQT Infrastructure VI, has completed its acquisition of the teleport infrastructure business from communications and IT services provider Speedcast. The deal adds 12 teleports in 11 countries and brings more than 100 professionals into SatPort.
SatPort provides teleport and gateway infrastructure for low Earth orbit, medium Earth orbit and geostationary satellite constellations. Speedcast will remain a customer under a new long-term infrastructure services agreement. The acquisition builds on a build-to-suit agreement SatPort signed with Telesat in September 2026 to develop landing stations for the Telesat Lightspeed network.
EQT said the acquisition makes SatPort a fully operational, carrier-neutral global platform for satellite operators, governments and enterprises. With this transaction, EQT Infrastructure VI is expected to be 80-85 percent invested.
