1248 Holdings acquires Generate Capital's stake in Ubiquity

Ubiquity owns fiber networks passing more than 200,000 addresses in Dallas-Fort Worth, Austin and Omaha; terms were not disclosed.

1248 Holdings, a family-owned private investment company, said it and affiliates have acquired Generate Capital's ownership interests in Ubiquity, a fiber network owner operating in Texas and Nebraska. Terms were not disclosed. 1248 was already an investor and founding partner in Ubiquity.

1248 said it will provide additional capital for Ubiquity's long-term growth, including continued investment in its FiberFirst internet service brand. Greg Dial, formerly chief revenue officer, becomes chief executive of Ubiquity and FiberFirst. Operations are continuing without interruption, the companies said.

Bank Street Group served as financial adviser to Ubiquity, with Kirkland & Ellis and Cooley as legal counsel. Polsinelli advised 1248 Holdings, and Proskauer Rose advised Generate Capital.
