Atlas Air Worldwide adds Air Atlanta

Atlas Air Worldwide, backed by J.F. Lehman & Company, has acquired a 49% minority stake in Air Atlanta, a global provider of ACMI and aircraft management services.

Air Atlanta operates a fleet of 14 widebody freighters, including Boeing 747 and 777 aircraft, and four passenger 777 aircraft.

The Air Atlanta management team retains a 51% controlling interest and will continue to lead the business under its existing structure.

Through its Titan Aviation Holdings subsidiary, Atlas also purchased the aircraft owned by the Air Atlanta group and will lease them back to the airline companies.
