Blackstone-backed Copeland adds environmental monitoring software, sensors and services for regulated markets.
Blackstone-backed Copeland acquired Dickson, an environmental monitoring business, from May River Capital. Founded in 1923 and based in Addison, Illinois, Dickson supplies software, connected monitoring devices, sensors and services for regulated applications.
It serves customers in more than 50 countries, including life sciences, pharmaceutical, healthcare and medical device businesses. May River acquired Dickson in April 2018 and supported investment in sensing and cloud-based monitoring technology.
Dickson also acquired French environmental monitoring company Oceasoft during that ownership period. The completed sale was announced September 23, following Copeland’s July announcement of exclusive negotiations.
