Energy Fuels agreed to acquire Vacuumschmelze, an advanced magnetics manufacturer, from Ara Partners in a cash-and-stock transaction valued at about $1.9 billion.
The deal links Energy Fuels’ rare earth mining and processing assets with VAC’s downstream magnet manufacturing capabilities, including a Sumter, South Carolina facility serving automotive, defense, robotics and data center customers.
