Verdant Capital Partners launched its first cannabis retail platform with the acquisition of Native Roots, a Colorado-based dispensary chain founded in 2009.

The deal brings 15 retail locations under Verdant’s ownership, all of which will continue operating under the Native Roots name while the firm invests in operations, employees, and customer experience.

The transaction reunites the business with co-founder Josh Ginsberg, now a principal at Verdant, and positions the firm to pursue additional acquisitions in regulated cannabis markets.

“Today’s closing marks the beginning of an exciting new chapter for both Verdant and Native Roots,” said Julian Michalowski, chief executive officer of Verdant Capital Partners.

Native Roots has built its reputation through product selection, customer service, and knowledgeable staff across its statewide network.
