S2G Investments invests $40 million in WILDE
The growth equity firm is backing the Lexington, Kentucky protein snack maker as it expands production and product formats past $100 million in sales.
WILDE said it has received a $40 million investment from S2G Investments, capital the snack maker will put toward manufacturing, new product development and brand building. The company said it has surpassed $100 million in sales and is sold in more than 35,000 retail locations.
WILDE recently opened a 130,000-square-foot production facility that it says multiplies its capacity sixfold, and has moved beyond its core Protein Chips with the launch of Protein Crackers, with more formats in development. Founder and CEO Jason Wright said the funding gives the company resources to expand faster.
S2G, which invests across food and agriculture, energy and oceans, framed the deal as a chance to build a broader snacking platform around growing consumer demand for protein. Principal Arthur Chow cited WILDE's retail footprint and product pipeline as the basis for the partnership.
