Mediterrania-backed TSJ acquires AgroProtectors
Técnicas Sanjorge, the Mediterrania Capital Partners-backed agricultural platform, has bought Barcelona-based crop-protection products supplier AgroProtectors.
Técnicas Sanjorge, the lead company of Mediterrania Capital Partners’ agricultural products and services platform, has completed the purchase of all of AgroProtectors. The Barcelona-based target supplies nets and other products for crop protection and support, including anti-bird, anti-insect and anti-hail nets, trellising, tree guards and posts.
AgroProtectors is the fifth acquisition for the platform since MCP invested in TSJ in July 2023. The group also includes Coflor and Requasur Levante. The deal coincides with the launch of Grovium, an umbrella brand uniting the four businesses while each keeps its trade name.
MCP said Africa now accounts for 63% of the group’s international sales, which have tripled on the continent since its investment. Senior partner Daniel Viñas said the firm sees scope to replicate the model with Spanish and Southern European SMEs combining acquisitions and international expansion.
