WSB president and CEO Bret Weiss called the acquisition a strategic investment in the firm’s environmental and natural systems platform and said it marks WSB’s entry into the Pacific Northwest.
Weiss highlighted Alta’s scientific expertise, collaborative culture, and shared commitment to community impact.
The two firms plan to integrate services and develop a coordinated go-to-market approach in 2026.
Alta CEO Derek Forseth said the partnership gives Alta’s clients access to broader resources and integrated expertise while creating new growth opportunities for staff within a like-minded organization.
WSB now operates from more than 50 offices with approximately 1,700 employees nationwide, serving government, commercial, and infrastructure markets.
Morrissey Goodale, a management consulting and research firm focused on the architecture, engineering, and environmental consulting industries, initiated the transaction and advised Alta Science & Engineering.
