Battery Ventures Takes Majority Stake in Sustainability at Work Group
Jan Henke and Norbert Schmitz retain stakes and leadership roles in the German certification and consulting group.
Battery Ventures has acquired a majority stake in Sustainability at Work Group, a Cologne, Germany-based provider of certification systems and consulting services for sustainable supply chains. The group serves markets including renewable fuels, food and feed, packaging and chemicals.
Battery plans to support international expansion, service development and potential acquisitions. Jan Henke and Norbert Schmitz remain shareholders and continue in leadership roles.
Schmitz remains managing director of the operational units, while Henke’s managing-director responsibilities extend across the group. The investment was announced September 7.
