Corten Capital and Ampersand Capital Partners have acquired Beacon Intelligence, a drug development intelligence platform serving over 300 customers globally.

The company was carved out from life sciences events operator Hanson Wade Group, which was backed by Graphite Capital.

The platform’s user base includes 24 of the world’s 30 largest pharmaceutical companies, and it employs 135 people.

Debt financing was provided by HSBC UK Leveraged Finance and HSBC Asset Management, alongside equity from Corten Capital II and Ampersand Capital Partners.

The transaction is the third investment from Corten Capital II, a €680 million fund that closed in March 2024.

Corten Capital is the majority owner, backing CEO Rob Poolman and chair Sati S.; Ampersand participated as a minority co-investor, with General Partner David Anderson joining the board.
