Samfara acquires Danish API maker Chr. Olesen Synthesis
The Danish manufacturer operates a cGMP production site in Hvidovre and supplies pharmaceutical laboratories with controlled-substance APIs and advanced intermediates.
Olesen Synthesis, a Danish developer and manufacturer of controlled-substance pharmaceutical APIs and advanced intermediates, has been acquired by Samfara from Chr. Olesen and funds managed by Signet Healthcare Partners.
The company operates a cGMP production site in Hvidovre, Denmark, serving pharmaceutical laboratories. CEO Thomas Moestrup is investing alongside Samfara, and Jean-François Hilaire, former CEO of Unither, will join the board as chairman.
The acquisition is supported by a consortium of European and North American institutional investors and family offices. Samfara plans to support the company in developing its capabilities and entering new markets.
