Bose acquires Skullcandy from Mill Road Capital

Bose bought lifestyle audio brand Skullcandy from a fund managed by Mill Road Capital; terms were not disclosed and Skullcandy stays based in Park City, Utah.

Bose Corporation said it acquired Skullcandy, the lifestyle audio brand founded in 2003, from a fund managed by Connecticut-based private investment firm Mill Road Capital Management. Financial and other terms of the transaction were not disclosed. Jones Day served as Bose's legal counsel.

Skullcandy will remain a separate brand within Bose's Premium Consumer Audio business and keep its headquarters in Park City, Utah. Bose said it plans to invest in the brand's growth by providing technology, resources, global distribution and commercial relationships.

The两家 companies had partnered for several years, with Sound by Bose technology already used in Skullcandy earbuds and headphones. Bose CEO Lila Snyder said the deal expands the company's multi-brand portfolio, while Skullcandy CEO Brian Garofalow said joining Bose gives the brand access to more audio technology.
