ARCHIMED completes acquisition of Standard BioTools' microfluidics business
The microfluidics unit, now renamed Biomark Scientific, makes automated genomics systems for research institutions, public health labs and biobanks.
ARCHIMED has completed its previously announced acquisition of the Microfluidics Business of Standard BioTools Inc. (NASDAQ: LAB). The business now operates as a standalone company under the name Biomark Scientific within ARCHIMED, a healthcare-focused investment firm.
Biomark Scientific sells the Biomark platform for high-throughput, multi-assay genomics. Its Biomark X9 system performs automated PCR, qPCR and NGS library prep in a single run using integrated fluidic circuits. The business was previously part of Fluidigm, which Standard BioTools renamed in 2022. ARCHIMED said it plans to support expansion of the company's capabilities, and the business will keep its existing team. The deal's financial terms were not disclosed.
