Ampersand-backed Confluent Medical Technologies acquires Northern Nitinol
Northern Nitinol provides Nitinol design, prototyping and processing services to medical device makers from Minnesota's Medical Alley.
Confluent Medical Technologies, a Scottsdale, Arizona-based contract manufacturer of Nitinol and polymer medical components, has acquired Northern Nitinol, a Minnesota-based Nitinol manufacturer known for rapid prototyping, the companies announced on November 6, 2026. Confluent is backed by Ampersand Capital Partners.
Confluent said the deal adds a Nitinol-focused facility in Minneapolis' Medical Alley to its Nitinol Center of Excellence in Fremont, California, and extends its Nitinol supply chain, which also includes a Nitinol Wire Center of Excellence in Hyderabad, India.
