Curewell Capital buys majority stake in ECA Medical from LongueVue Capital
ECA Medical, a Thousand Oaks surgical instrument and procedural kit maker founded in 1979, is getting a majority investment from Curewell Capital.
Curewell Capital, a Los Angeles-based healthcare private equity firm, has signed a definitive agreement to acquire a majority stake in ECA Medical from LongueVue Capital. The terms were not disclosed, and the deal is expected to close in the fourth quarter of 2026, subject to customary conditions.
ECA, founded in 1979, designs and makes single-use instruments, surgery-ready solutions and procedural kits for medical device OEMs. It has shipped more than 55 million instruments and 500,000 procedural kits and operates five FDA-registered, ISO 13485-certified facilities in California and Utah.
CEO Lane Hale and the existing management team will continue to lead ECA. The company said the investment will fund growth in its product portfolio, manufacturing facilities and capabilities. Solomon Partners advised ECA and LongueVue as exclusive financial adviser, with Norton Rose Fulbright as legal adviser to both. Kirkland & Ellis advised Curewell.
