Alpha Generation adds Brandywine Power
Adds 250 MW of combined-cycle capacity in PJM’s PEPCO Zone, serving utilities, cooperatives, municipalities and large-load customers across the Mid-Atlantic.
Onward Energy Holdings, LLC sold Brandywine Power to Alpha Generation, LLC, bringing the ArcLight Capital Partners-backed power platform a 250 MW combined-cycle generating facility in Maryland.
The plant is in Prince George’s County within PJM Interconnection’s PEPCO Zone and supplies the Washington, D.C., regional power market.
Brandywine Power provides capacity, energy and ancillary services across the Mid-Atlantic.
Its customer base includes utilities, electric cooperatives, municipalities and large-load customers seeking dispatchable power resources in a region tied to electrification, data center demand and other load growth.
Alpha Generation, LLC is a power infrastructure platform formed and majority owned by an affiliate of ArcLight Capital Partners.
The company owns and operates generation assets and is led through Alpha Generation Services, LLC by a management team focused on operations, commercial contracting and risk management.
The Brandywine Power facility is located near Alpha Generation, LLC’s Keys Energy Center, which recently entered a 10-year electricity and capacity supply agreement with Southern Maryland Electric Cooperative.
Alpha Generation, LLC also has nearly 3 GW of uprate and expansion projects across existing PJM sites.
