Lafayette Instrument adds Avisoft Bioacoustics
The transaction adds ultrasonic vocalization research hardware and software solutions to the Branford Castle-backed platform’s life sciences instrumentation portfolio, marking its sixth add-on since 2021.
Branford Castle Partners-backed Lafayette Instrument, LLC has acquired Avisoft Bioacoustics, a provider of ultrasonic vocalization (USV) research hardware and software solutions.
Avisoft’s integrated system, anchored by ultrasonic microphones, serves universities and research institutions worldwide and is referenced in thousands of peer-reviewed publications.
The deal marks Lafayette’s sixth bolt-on since Branford Castle Partners acquired the company in 2021, further expanding its life sciences instrumentation platform into the bioacoustics field.
Loy & Co Corporate Finance acted as financial advisor to Avisoft; Branford Castle Partners was advised by Vedder for legal and RSM for accounting and tax.
