Verix Equity Partners has made a platform investment in Syntasa, a McLean, Virginia-based developer of a sovereign AI and data platform that allows defense, intelligence, and large commercial enterprises to deploy artificial intelligence while keeping sensitive data under their control.

Rather than moving data to external AI environments, Syntasa's platform is designed to bring AI capabilities directly to customer-controlled infrastructure across cloud, private, air-gapped, and edge environments.

Managing Partner Sean Battle said Syntasa's combination of long-standing government relationships and enterprise technology aligns with the firm's strategy of backing founder-led businesses at the intersection of technology and national security.

Verix and Syntasa plan to scale go-to-market resources for government and commercial customers and pursue targeted acquisitions to broaden the platform's sovereign AI and data ecosystem.

Syntasa was advised by The McLean Group on financial matters and Dorsey on legal matters.
