Arteche agrees to buy SEG Electronics from AURELIUS

Arteche has reached an agreement with AURELIUS Private Equity Lower Midmarket to acquire 100% of SEG Electronics GmbH, a German maker of medium-voltage protection relays for power grids. The deal includes SEG's US and UAE subsidiaries.

SEG, founded in 1969 and headquartered in Kempen, North Rhine-Westphalia, has a production plant in Germany, commercial and sourcing hubs in the US, Poland and the Middle East, more than 350 customers and 80 employees, and sells in over 80 countries.

Arteche said the deal strengthens its automation offering for transmission and distribution networks and its position in the DACH region, and gives it access to data center demand. CEO Alexander Artetxe said SEG's protection technology would accelerate Arteche's roadmap.
