Standard Investment buys majority stake in low-cost fuel station group Gasexpress
Spanish low-cost fuel station operator with 57 stations and about 185 million euros in annual sales, which aims to double in size by 2030.
Dutch private equity firm Standard Investment has acquired a majority stake in Gasexpress, a Spanish low-cost fuel station group. The deal covers the group's 57 stations, its fuel transport company Liquids Express and its management structure.
The current shareholders remain in the company's capital and continue to lead management in the new phase. Gasexpress, which reports annual sales of 185 million euros, plans to invest 40 million euros through 2030 in new openings, acquisitions and upgrades of existing stations, targeting 120 stations by then.
The deal is Standard Investment's second in Spain in three months, following its stake in Plásticos Ferrando, a company based in Valencia.
