Seequent, a Bentley Systems unit, acquires seismic software maker Eliis
Montpellier-based Eliis develops seismic interpretation software, including the PaleoScan platform, and has more than 100 staff who will join Seequent.
Bentley Systems said its subsurface unit Seequent, The Bentley Subsurface Company, has acquired seismic interpretation software company Eliis. The acquisition is meant to strengthen Seequent's geophysics capabilities alongside its Leapfrog implicit modeling tool. No value was disclosed.
Founded in 2007, Eliis sells PaleoScan, which uses patented Relative Geological Time technology and AI-assisted interpretation, and the PaleoModel co-innovation project for reservoir simulation. Eliis' more than 100 geoscientists, technical specialists and researchers will join Seequent. Seequent CEO Graham Grant and Eliis CEO Benoît Matha both commented on the deal, with Matha citing a long-term home and plans to become a subsurface platform beyond energy.
