Miura-backed Sabseg acquires Italian broker MecVis
Sabseg, the Miura-backed insurance broker, has bought MecVis, a corporate insurance specialist in northern Italy that placed €11.8 million in premiums last year.
Sabseg has added MecVis, a corporate insurance broker based in Italy's Trentino-Alto Adige and Veneto regions, to its group. MecVis was founded in 2017 by Corrado Mussato and Evelin Gottardi, who will remain with the business. The brokerage intermediated €11.8 million in premiums last year, 15% more than the previous year.
The purchase is Sabseg's fourth in Italy, following Asigest, Today and Insurance Solutions, and takes its total acquisitions in southern Europe to 25, mainly in Spain. The broker, led by Eduardo Dávila, now operates 75 offices across Spain, Italy and Portugal with around 800 employees and just over €800 million in intermediated premiums.
Miura took a majority stake in Sabseg in 2023 and backed Dávila as CEO and chairman in 2025. With the sponsor's support, Sabseg aims to reach €2 billion in intermediated premiums by 2030 through acquisitions, organic growth and hires.
