MCH Private Equity leads €300 million capital increase in Europastry
Spanish frozen dough maker Europastry completed a €300 million capital increase led by MCH, with state-owned Cofides investing €49.6 million.
MCH Private Equity led a €300 million capital increase in Europastry, the Sant Cugat del Vallès-based frozen bakery company controlled by the Gallés family. According to sources close to the company, MCH's stake has risen from 20.73% at the end of the last financial year to around 30%.
State company Cofides invested €49.6 million in Europastry through the Fund for Investments Abroad (Fiex) as part of the capital increase, to support the company's US growth plans.
The Gallés family keeps a clear majority, with its stake falling from 76.27% to about 67% after the increase. Jordi Morral, the company's CEO, holds the remainder. MCH extended its investment after Europastry's failed stock market listing in October 2024.
