Gryphon-backed Southern Home Services acquires Vanderford Air and Plumbing

Southern Home Services, a Gryphon Investors portfolio company, has acquired Vanderford Air and Plumbing of League City, Texas. The transaction closed on November 2, 2026, and is Southern's second location in the Houston designated market area.

Vanderford Air and Plumbing joins Nick's Plumbing & Air Conditioning, which Southern acquired in October 2025. Vanderford provides heating, air conditioning and plumbing services to homeowners. Southern said the deal fits its strategy of investing in locally operated service companies and providing them with infrastructure, training and shared expertise.

Southern's chief strategy officer, Jarrod Brinker, said the company will keep the local identity and customer relationships of the business. Robert Vanderford, the company's owner, said Southern's commitment to local brands made it the right fit.
