Bessemer sells 44 Taco Bell locations to Ghai Restaurant Group
Adds Houston market entry and unit scale for a multi-brand franchisee that already operated Burger King, Taco Bell and Blaze Pizza restaurants.
Ghai Restaurant Group agreed to buy 44 Taco Bell locations, a group of Houston franchise restaurants sold by Mas Restaurant Group.
The restaurants operate in the quick-service segment and move from a 123-unit Taco Bell operator to a multi-brand franchisee.
Ghai’s system included more than 115 Burger King restaurants, 35 Taco Bells and seven Blaze Pizza units before the transaction.
Mas Restaurant Group has been backed by Bessemer Investors since 2018, with growth during that period coming through development and acquisitions, including a 2021 purchase of 36 Taco Bell units in Columbus, Ohio, from CL Companies.
