H.I.G. Capital backs HBK
Founded in 1949, it operates 27 offices across seven states and India serving entrepreneur-led and family-owned businesses and high-net-worth individuals and families.
HBK, an integrated accounting, tax, audit, consulting, technology, and wealth management firm, will adopt an alternative practice structure prior to closing as H.I.G. Capital becomes its first institutional partner. The firm’s partners will continue to lead the business, and the investment provides capital for people, technology, and client service while preserving its partner-led culture.
Under the structure, audit and review attest services remain with the licensed CPA firm Hill, Barth & King LLC, while tax, consulting, accounting, and technology services will be provided by HBK Advisory Group and wealth management continues under HBK Sorce Advisory. William Blair and Ropes & Gray advised H.I.G.; Houlihan Lokey and Levenfeld Pearlstein advised HBK.
