Journey Beyond adds Crocodile Hotel in Kakadu

Brings a 110-room crocodile-shaped hotel in Jabiru into an experiential tourism group with existing Northern Territory assets including The Ghan and Ayers Rock Resort.

A 110-room hotel shaped as a crocodile in Kakadu National Park is being added to Journey Beyond through its agreement to acquire Crocodile Hotel operations in Australia’s Northern Territory.

The property is in Jabiru, within the UNESCO World Heritage-listed park, and includes Manjmukmuk Restaurant and Bar, conference facilities, an outdoor pool and an on-site gallery showcasing local artwork.

Crocodile Hotel serves experiential tourism tied to Kakadu, including Indigenous cultural tourism, eco-friendly tourism and active outdoor travel in the Top End.

The hotel sits on land leased from the Mirarr Traditional Owners through Gundjeihmi Aboriginal Corporation Jabiru Town.

Existing management will continue to lead the property under Journey Beyond, whose Northern Territory assets include The Ghan and Ayers Rock Resort.

Terms were not disclosed, and closing was expected in early June.
