CopperPoint completes purchase of Boston Omaha's surety unit General Indemnity
Boston Omaha has completed the all-cash sale of its surety insurance business, General Indemnity Group, to CopperPoint for a gross price of $84,308,757.
Boston Omaha Corporation, the NYSE-listed holding company, said it has completed the sale of its surety insurance business, operated by General Indemnity Group, LLC, to CopperPoint Insurance Company. CopperPoint acquired all outstanding equity interests of GIG in an all-cash transaction.
The gross sales price is $84,308,757. Boston Omaha keeps 2,673,831 shares of Sky Harbour Class A common stock and a final cash dividend of $326,371 from GIG's January 2026 sale of its Breezeway Homes preferred stock. The terms are unchanged from the securities purchase agreement signed on May 18, 2026.
Boston Omaha CEO Adam K. Peterson said the GIG team's capabilities, combined with CopperPoint's scale and financial strength, would position the surety business for continued growth. Boston Omaha will hold the sale proceeds as cash for future opportunities, including a $30 million share repurchase plan.
