Alamo Group acquires Econ Engineering

Alamo Group buys Ripon-based Econ Engineering, a UK maker of road maintenance trucks, for £120 million, or about $158.7 million.

Alamo Group Inc. (NYSE: ALG) said it has acquired Econ Engineering Group Limited, a UK manufacturer of roadway maintenance trucks and equipment, for £120 million, or about $158.7 million, subject to customary closing adjustments. The purchase was funded through Alamo Group's revolving credit facility. Econ will join Alamo Group's Industrial Equipment Division.

Founded in 1969 and headquartered in Ripon, North Yorkshire, Econ makes gritters, de-icing vehicles, road patching and repair equipment, and multi-purpose truck bodies. It runs a rental fleet of about 1,300 vocational trucks and supports customers across the UK. For the fiscal year ended March 31, 2026, Econ generated about $88 million of net sales and $38.5 million of Adjusted EBITDA. Its main customers are UK local authorities, government agencies and contractors.

Alamo Group CEO Robert Hureau said Econ strengthens the company's UK platform and fits its strategy of expanding the Industrial Equipment portfolio. D.A. Davidson MCF International served as financial adviser to Alamo Group.
