Triton buys Flender industrial business from Carlyle
Serving industrial and wind power customers, the business brings Triton a manufacturing platform in gearboxes, couplings and generators.
Triton acquired Flender, supplier of gearboxes, couplings and generators for industrial and wind power applications.
Carlyle is the seller, exiting a power transmission business it bought from Siemens in 2021.
Flender makes mechanical and electrical drive systems, including wind turbine gear units, for industrial, renewable energy and infrastructure markets.
The Germany-based business generated €2.2 billion of revenue and operates in more than 30 countries.
Terms were not disclosed for the transaction, which creates a new industrial manufacturing platform for Triton centered on power-transmission components and equipment used across factory, energy and infrastructure applications.
