Skoyen Software has acquired Bartec Municipal Technologies (BMT), a UK-based provider of integrated hardware, software, and professional services for municipal waste management, forming a platform in the sector.

The company's flagship Collective platform delivers route optimisation, real-time performance monitoring, and resident engagement tools to more than 100 local authorities across waste collection, recycling, and street cleansing operations.

Founder Colin Webb, who built the business over three decades, exits, while CEO Tim Hobbs and the management team remain.

"With Skoyen's support, we can help our customers make this a tangible and exciting reality," Hobbs said.

Skoyen plans to invest in expanding BMT's artificial intelligence capabilities, developing new services for local authority customers, and entering new markets.
