Warner Music Group buys Sureel AI

Operating as a standalone platform, the company tracks AI use of music assets and NIL elements for rightsholders across music and entertainment.

Warner Music Group has agreed to acquire Sureel AI, an AI attribution and IP provenance software platform built for music and entertainment rightsholders.

Sureel’s multi-patented technology creates “AI DNA” for each work, breaking music into component parts and tracing how AI models use those elements.

The company also provides IP provenance, audit and compliance reporting, model optimization, AI business intelligence, and a NIL attribution suite covering artist voices, likenesses and performance identities used in AI training and generation.

Its registry holds millions of music assets and is built to extend multi-layer attribution into video and image.

Sureel will continue to operate as a standalone platform serving the broader music and AI ecosystem.
