Platinum Equity-backed HC Companies has acquired Classic Home & Garden, a Shelton, Conn.-based designer and supplier of decorative planters and garden décor to national retailers, distributors, and garden centers across North America.
The two businesses now operate as Growscape, with Classic Home & Garden owner and CEO Fred Ryan remaining a significant investor and serving as president of the combined entity.
Growscape serves greenhouse, nursery, retail, and consumer markets, and is showcasing sustainable horticulture solutions including the ReTerra biodegradable growing container developed with Kaimarra.
