Vertica’s columnar database is designed for advanced analytics and AI workloads, and can be deployed in cloud, on-premises, or hybrid environments.
The platform is used by large enterprises for data warehousing, predictive analytics, and machine learning, and its deployment flexibility supports companies repatriating analytics workloads or adopting generative AI.

Rocket Software, headquartered in Waltham, Massachusetts, is a portfolio company of Bain Capital Private Equity and provides modernization tools to more than 12,500 customers.
The Vertica acquisition follows its 2024 integration of OpenText’s Application Modernization & Connectivity business, and Rocket plans to combine Vertica’s analytics with its own Rocket DataEdge and Rocket ContentEdge solutions to build a broader data platform.
CEO Milan Shetti said the acquisition aligns with the company’s effort to enable customers to run advanced analytics and AI directly on trusted enterprise data.
The acquisition was completed immediately upon announcement.
