Bain Capital agreed to acquire Vitabiotics, the UK vitamin, mineral and supplement company founded by the Lalvani family in 1971.

The transaction includes Vitabiotics' UK operations and the wider VB Group, including Meyer Organics in India and operations in Africa; certain group entities outside the transaction will remain under their existing ownership.

Bain said it will support investment in digital capabilities, e-commerce, international distribution, supply-chain resilience and product development, with India, the Middle East and North Africa, and China among the priority markets.

Vitabiotics operates in more than 70 countries and will continue under second-generation CEO Tej Lalvani.

Financial terms were not disclosed.
