Agora Invests $47 Million in Vheda Health
The health-plan analytics business receives its first institutional funding after 13 years of founder ownership.
Agora invested $47 million in Vheda Health, a Columbia, Maryland-based company providing health plans with analytics and care-engagement services for high-risk members. Founded in 2013 by Shameet Luhar and Philip Rub, Vheda had operated without institutional capital.
Its platform combines clinical and behavioral data with care-team interventions across chronic-care and maternity programs. Luhar remains CEO, overseeing more than 110 health specialists, data scientists and analytics staff.
The funding will support national expansion, product development and acquisitions. This is the first investment by Agora, founded by former Eir Partners managing director Neil Vangala.
