HarperLove adds ChromaScape’s corrugated products business
The acquired operation includes LBX, CorrMax, and WaterGuard, specialty chemical lines that serve corrugated box manufacturers and fit HarperLove’s adhesives and performance-additive portfolio.
ChromaScape’s corrugated products business, formerly known as CEL Chemical and a specialty chemical supplier serving corrugated box manufacturers, was acquired by HarperLove, a portfolio company of HBM Holdings. The operation’s product set includes LBX, a borax and caustic replacement used in starch batches; CorrMax, a line of performance-enhancement additives; and WaterGuard, a wet-strength resin product, complementing HarperLove’s existing adhesives, performance additives, and technical solutions.
The transaction also broadens HarperLove’s customer relationships and geographic reach in corrugated packaging, giving the company an opportunity to provide additional technical services to customers inherited through the deal. “This acquisition is a natural fit for HarperLove and another step forward in our long-term growth strategy,” President and CEO Kenny Messer said.
HBM Holdings, a privately held investment company focused on middle-market industrial businesses, has built HarperLove as a packaging adhesives platform serving manufacturers that depend on adhesive performance, production efficiency, and consistency.
