FH Capital Acquires JinkoSolar’s U.S. Manufacturing Business
The deal carves out the solar panel maker's domestic production operations, creating a standalone platform for FH Capital's industrial portfolio.
JinkoSolar is divesting its American manufacturing operations, shifting ownership of a domestic solar production footprint to private equity.
The transaction makes the unit a standalone entity under new sponsorship amid a wave of reshoring in the clean energy supply chain.
JinkoSolar, one of the world’s largest solar module producers, operates a factory in Jacksonville, Florida, which assembles photovoltaic panels for the U.S. The global manufacturer has expanded capacity in response to trade tariffs and federal incentives aimed at localizing renewable energy equipment production.
FH Capital, a private investment firm, is acquiring the business as a platform investment.
The firm intends to operate the carved-out entity independently, targeting growth within the U.S. utility, commercial, and residential solar markets.
The carve-out reflects the broader trend of separating Asian-owned manufacturing assets into U.S.-centric entities to meet domestic content requirements under the Inflation Reduction Act.
Solar module imports remain subject to duties, making local assembly increasingly valuable for project developers and off-takers.
No financial terms or advisors were released.
The transaction is subject to regulatory clearances and customary closing conditions.
